( 4UMF NEWS ) 11-Year-Old Steals Cement Mixer For Joyride:

An 11-year-old boy cemented his trip behind bars after he allegedly stole a concrete mixer for a destructive joy ride through Minnesota. Police started chasing the the pre-teen speed demon on Sunday afternoon after the boy stole the truck while the keys were still in the car, the Dodge County sheriff’s office said.

During the chase, the kid smashed into a Minnesota State Patrol car and a Kasson Police vehicle, blasting through at up to 70 miles an hour. The cement truck lost its front right tire after the suspect floored it across a stop stick and punctured the wheel — but the joyride continued.

The 11-year-old then drove the car off the highway and back into town, where he “attempted to hit a number of vehicles,” police said.

“I betcha he drove around town 6 or 7 different times,” Troy Flatness told NBC News. “He was smiling, hooting and hollering…he was having a good time.”

Several residents came out to watch the high-speed joy ride, according to reports.

The 11-year-old boy tried fleeing after driving the truck into a dead end, but was caught shortly after.
State patrol followed the truck with a helicopter until it was stuck in a dead end, after more than an hour of chasing.

The boy tried fleeing on foot, but was arrested shortly after, police said.

The escapade caused a large amount of wreckage to the brand new truck, as well as damaging several roadways around the Minnesota town, officers said.

“There is tons of glass all over the street,” Kaity Peterson, a witness during the chase told the Star Tribune. “There are rim marks all up and down the street.”

There were no injuries from the high-speed cement truck chase. The pre-teen was brought to the Juevenile Detention Center in Rochester.
