Aaron Hernandez Indicted For Shooting Friend In Face

( 4UMF NEWS ) Aaron Hernandez Indicted For Shooting Friend In Face:

Add witness intimidation to the long list of Aaron Hernandez's criminal charges.

A grand jury in Boston indicted the former Patriots tight end under the witness intimidation statute for allegedly shooting Alexander Bradley, the former right-hand man of Hernandez, on Friday.

Hernandez has also been charged with murder in the slaying of Furtado and Abreu. A status hearing in the case is scheduled for May 21. The trial is expected to start later this summer or in the fall.

Bradley is believed to have been riding in a silver Toyota 4Runner on June 16, 2012 when Hernandez allegedly shot Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu to death. Hernandez never met the men before that night, prosecutors said. Hernandez was arraigned a year ago, and the government maintained that he emptied a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver into the victims after stalking them outside a club. They only met after one bumped into Hernandez and spilled his drink in the Cure Lounge.

Bradley later filed a lawsuit against Hernandez in 2013, asserting that Hernandez shot him in the eye and left him to die in a back alley in Riviera Beach, Fla. Hernandez has never been charged with a crime in the Florida shooting.

Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder on April 15. Jurors found him guilty of killing Odin Lloyd, another Boston man from the Dorchester neighborhood. Hernandez is serving a life sentence in Massachusetts.

Bradley, who is being held in Connecticut on separate criminal charges, testified against Hernandez in the Lloyd case.
