Air France Executives Stripped Of Their Clothes

( 4UMF NEWS ) Air France Executives Stripped Of Their Clothes:

Striking Air France workers stripped the shirts right off the backs of airline executives in Paris, leaving some senior staffers scrambling to safety in mere tatters or half naked.

The angry confrontation outside Charles de Gaulle Airport on Monday morning attracted protesters calling on Air France-KLM president Alexandre de Juniac to resign after the airline’s decision to cut 2,900 jobs, according to Ouest France.

Scores of workers chased the airline’s barechested human resources director, Xavier Broseta, out of their headquarters, cornering him and other executives at a fence. Broseta had only a shred of his white shirt remaining as he tried to climb the fence to safety. It’s not clear what became of his jacket.

The vice president of Orly’s Air France division, Pierre Plissonnier, was also photographed climbing the fence in a shredded shirt. The attack left Broseta “shocked and disappointed” at Monday’s violence. The demonstration injured seven people including security guards.

The protest will not sway Air France-KLM president Alexandre de Juniac from going forward with its cost-cutting measures, the Guardian reported.

The plan includes eliminating more than a dozen aircraft from its fleet and laying off 900 flight attendants and 300 pilots among its staff reductions by 2017.

The airlines intends to file a complaint with authorities over “aggravated violence.”

The primary target of the protestation, Air France president Frédéric Gagey, was not hurt in the scuffle. He escaped fully clothed having left the board meeting before about 500 employees stormed their board meeting, Ouest France added.

The executives were hearing proposed changes to the company after failed negotiations with unions.
