Boyz II Men’s Michael McCary Has Multiple Sclerosis

( 4UMF NEWS ) Boyz II Men's Michael McCary Has Multiple Sclerosis:

Former Boyz II Men singer Michael McCary revealed he has been battling multiple sclerosis. The R&B singer was diagnosed with the disease, which affects the brain and spinal chord, more than two decades ago.

“When I first saw of the ailments start to happen, it was like little back spasms at first and it would get stronger and stronger,” McCary, 44, explained on Saturday's episode of "Iyanla: Fix My Life." “Once I was about 22, it started going full scale.”

His MS was the reason he left Boyz II Men in 2003 after group members, Nathan and Wayne Morris, and Shawn Stockman "abandoned" him.

“I want to get over the hurt and abandonment that I feel from the group that I’ve been with for so long and gave my life to,” he told Iyanla. “I want to be able to go in a room with them and not feel like I want to choke them.”

But last month, Morris sang a different tune when asked about McCary's departure on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?"

“One of the problems was he had a back issue,” Morris said. “It could have been fixed, instead he stopped coming to work and we had to move forward without him – and he wasn’t happy about that.”
