Brawl Breaks Out At Pokemon Go Stop

( 4UMF NEWS ) Brawl Breaks Out At Pokemon Go Stop:

It was a Pokebrawl.

A massive melee broke out Saturday night in an upstate New York village, at a park popular with Pokémon Go players — and one onlooker caught it on camera.

Juckett Park in Hudson Falls is home to a Pokémon gym. But when a fight broke out, some players apparently got caught up in the action, witnesses told CBS affiliate WRGB.

The fisticuffs started after an altercation between a man and a woman — but from there the battle expanded, even stopping traffic at one point.

"You can definitely see one female getting hit, and several males throwing punches. It's hard to see if they were landed or not because there were so many people there," Chief Randy Diamond said after seeing the video.

Police, who were summoned to the park around 9:30 p.m., said they haven’t formally connected the game to the outburst of violence.

Chris Miranda, who was at the scene, told ABC affiliate WTEN the brawl wasn’t actually about Pokémon but about fighting words that turned into an actual fight — right in the middle of Main Street.

Police haven’t made any arrests, and Diamond told WRGB that the people involved are not being cooperative.
