Deborah Cox Realizes She Had A Good Thing On ‘More Than I Knew’

( 4UMF NEWS ) Deborah Cox Realizes She Had A Good Thing On ‘More Than I Knew’:

Sometimes you don’t know how good a mate really is until he or she is out of your life. Such is the premise of Deborah Cox‘s new song, “More Than I Knew.”
Produced by Thaddeus Dixon, the lush track brings you back to a time time when hip-hop and R&B wasn’t so fused together. This is rhythm and blues at its best. Cox easily displays why she’s been such a success for the last 20 years.

With her powerful voice and crystal-clear delivery, the Toronto native sings about letting her man get away, then realizes that their relationship wasn’t so bad after all.
“I missed you so much more than I ever loved you / I’m better off needing you now than when I had you / I know I complained but now you’re all that I crave / Maybe I just loved you more than I knew,” she sings in the hook.
Without a doubt, the heartfelt cut will appeal to Cox’s core fan base, which was her game plan all along.

“‘More Than I Knew’” is classic Deborah Cox,” she said in a press release. “I know my audience wanted that classic Deborah sound, and I knew the best person to produce my vocals is my long-time partner in song, Lascelles Stephens.”
“He knows my voice and knows how to record my voice in a way that people feel. It was great to have Thaddeus’ backdrop musically. It enabled me to really hone in on the emotion and tell the story,” added Deborah.

“More Than I Knew” will be on the singer’s upcoming album, Work of Art, which hits shelves on Aug. 15.
