( 4UMF NEWS ) Driver Going 112 MPH Was Heading to Pay Speeding Ticket:

A 33-year-old Connecticut man told police he was headed to traffic court to take care of a speeding ticket when Vermont State Police say they pulled him over for driving over 100 miles per hour.

Trooper Rich Slusser says the West Hartford man, Seth Tichenor, 33, was clocked going 112 miles per hour and was weaving in and out of traffic in Royalton on Interstate 89 north Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m. The interstate is a 65 miles-per-hour zone. State police had received calls about someone speeding.

He has been charged with excessive speeding and negligent operation.

Slusser says the man was given a citation ordering him to appear in Vermont Superior Court in White River Junction on Oct. 27.

Police say they have stopped about 10 drivers on interstate highways in the last month for going at least 100 mph in 55 and 65 mph zones.
