( 4UMF NEWS ) Elephant Throws Rock And Kills 7-Year-Old Girl:

A tragic incident at a Moroccan zoo has left a 7-year-old girl dead after an elephant hurled a rock at her.

The girl was posing for a photo in front of the animal's enclosure at the Jardin Zoologique in Rabat at the time the elephant named Assia picked up a large stone and launched it at the back of her head.

"These kinds of accidents are rare, unforeseeable and unusual," a zoo spokesman said in a press release. "The zoo's staff offers their deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased at this difficult time."

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the girl succumbed to her injuries several hours later.

According to the Telegraph, some reports say the victim was on her father's shoulders so her mother could take a photo of her as the elephants walked in the background.

A tourist was mauled to death by a Siberian tiger after she went after her daughter (pictured here), who was dragged away by the beast. While driving through Badling Wildlife Park, it was reported that the young woman had a fight with the other passengers and stormed out of the car. While outside the vehicle, the tiger almost immediately grabbed her and dragged her into the park. The woman's mother and husband went after her when the tiger turned his attention to the mother, eventually killing her.

Graphic video of the aftermath shows the child on the ground while her family holds her head, trying to stop the bleeding.

The zoo's spokesman cited similar recent animal-related tragedies in the U.S., including the death of 2-year-old Lane Graves at Disneyland and Harambe the gorilla grabbing 3-year-old Isaiah Dickerson at the Cincinnati Zoo after he fell into the animal's enclosure.

At the moment, Jardin Zoologique has no plans to put down Assia. The Telegraph reports that this is the first deadly accident to take place at the zoo.
