( 4UMF NEWS ) Epic Records Partners With Bad Boy Entertainment:
Power moves all around the board. Just two weeks after Diddy was named the Hip-Hop Cash King by Forbes, the Bad Boy is about to rake in even more through his latest deal with Epic Records. “I have known LA Reid since the very beginning and together we have enjoyed countless successes over our long friendship. To now work with LA in this capacity feels more like a homecoming than a new beginning,” Diddy stated.
Yesterday LA Reid announced that him and Diddy have officially merged Bad Boy Entertainment with Epic. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs aka Puff Daddy and I have been musical collaborators since the 1990s when we both ran independent record labels, myself with LaFace and soon after, Puffy with Bad Boy,” said Reid. “Over the years, we not only enjoyed incredible success together, but we also became lifelong friends. Today, of course, Puffy is truly in a league all his own, continuing to influence culture and ignite musical revolutions time and time again. He’s a true innovator and I could not be more excited to join forces once again.”
The business deal includes two new albums from Diddy, despite him telling Ellen Degeneres that this year will be his last time touring. In addition, the two labels will create a joint deal for artists “which will bring a new generation of Bad Boy artists to Epic in an exclusive label partnership,” according to the statement made by Epic Records.
Diddy is scheduled to release new music at this week’s B.E.T. Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in honor of the new deal. Stay tuned for more news from Epic regarding the venture in the coming weeks.
