Floyd Mayweather Slapped With $20M Defamation Lawsuit

( 4UMF NEWS ) Floyd Mayweather Slapped With $20M Defamation Lawsuit:

Straight after getting a $100 million pay out for his victorious win against Manny Pacquiao on Saturday, Floyd Mayweather could lose a chunk of his hard earned cash. Josie Harris, who has three children with the famed boxer, has filed a lawsuit against her ex for allegedly defaming her in a recent interview.

Two weeks before Floyd was set to face off with Manny, he did an interview with Katie Couric where he recounted his widely publicized 2010 domestic violence incident with Josie. The athlete claimed that Harris was in a drug-fueled rage when he had to restrain her, but denied kicking and beating his ex-girlfriend.

When asked if he felt unfairly accused, Floyd replied, "Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn't happen. I look in your face and say, 'No, that didn't happen.' Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that's domestic violence, then, you know what? I'm guilty. I'm guilty of restraining someone."

Floyd spent two years in jail after being accused of domestic violence, but there was no evidence brought up that Josie was ever on drugs at the time of the incident. She is now suing Mayweather in excess of $20 million, and her lawyer, Dan Friedlander, addressed Floyd's claims in the lawsuit.

Friedlander said Mayweather's comments "were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather's upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children."

Do you think the case will go to court?
