Iggy Izalea Posts Racist Tweets

( 4UMF NEWS ) Iggy Izalea Posts Racist Tweets:

tweets are not new. She’s been tweeting that way for years. But recently, her past has been coming back to haunt her.

The Australian 25-year-old rapper pulled out of Saturday’s Pittsburgh Gay Pride event because of a backlash over anti-gay remarks she made on Twitter. Advocacy groups have said her remarks were inconsistent with values of acceptance.

The “Fancy” singer later released a statement saying the remarks were not reflective of her character and she is a firm believer in equality.

“I meant no harm and deeply regret ever uttering these words,” she said on Twitter. “As an adult I would never use them because I understand they play a detrimental role in the fight for issues that I do truly believe in.”

While it’s her messages about gays and blacks that are getting the most attention, Azalea has also targeted Hispanics and Asians in the past. Many have since been removed, but screen shots of the tweets remain online.

“Is it wrong I feel happy to hear southern accents again & not mexican ones?” she said on Twitter. “… I am.” In another tweet she said women in Los Angeles are “stick skinny,” unless they are Mexican, who “still got the box body on lock.”

She also targeted Asians and African Americans.

Pop singer Nick Jonas, who played a gay boxer on “Kingdom,” replaced her at the Pittsburgh event.
