( 4UMF NEWS ) Jay Z And Beyonce Posted Bail For Baltimore Protesters:

Jay Z and Beyonce’s philanthropic efforts are often unheard of or swept under the rug, but social activist and filmmaker dream hampton has revealed the couple has done a lot for the supporters of Mike Brown and Baltimore’s Freddie Gray.

In a series of now-deleted tweets picked up by Complex, the writer states that the Carters wired thousands of dollars to help post bail for jailed protesters. It was previously reported that Jay Z helped get LeBron James and others to wear “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirts to honor Eric Garner, but the rapper also contributed to the group, Black Lives Matter, to help build their infrastructure.

The author’s comments come just after the rapper’s B-Sides concert and criticism he’s faced for not publicly speaking on police violence in the cases of Freddie Gray, Walter White, John Crawford and Tamir Rice. However, Hov has met with New York Governor Mario Cuomo to discuss police tactics and criminal justice reforms.

Beyonce has also had her hand in community relations by donating to the victims of Haiti and speaking to children in poverty stricken areas for her “Bey Good” program. She’s also assisted in building a housing facility for homeless women in Houston by contributing $7 million to the project.

Reasons on why the Carters like to keep their efforts lowkey are mixed, from their names possibly overlooking the cause, to their own personal preference.
