( 4UMF NEWS ) Jerry Seinfeld Speaks On Working With Wale:
One of the many featured vocals on Wale’s The Album About Nothing came from the man himself, Jerry Seinfeld. The actor/comedian recently spoke with The New York Times on his pivotal role on Wale’s project, what he learned about the D.C. MC, and reveals that his wife is a big fan.
“…she plays his music in the house all the time,” he said. “I liked it, too — I don’t spend much time putting together playlists, but that’s what’s nice about being in a family is people just inflict it on you. I absorb it that way.”
Seinfeld continued to say after he met Wale at one of his shows they began to discuss his thought-process for the album. “It just felt so offbeat and that’s what appeals to me,” he said.
On the reason why Seinfeld said yes to being part of the voice that drives the project, he said, “This guy’s a real artist and I thought he would be inventive and creative with it as opposed to just pilot fishing, as I call it. You know how that little fish hangs onto the shark and just goes for the ride but doesn’t do any of the work?”
The Album About Nothing has sold over 100,000 copies in its debuting week. Peep the full interview here.
