For the second time in two weeks, an LSU football player has been arrested on a charge involving alleged violent behavior.

Reserve cornerback Kavahra Holmes of Breaux Bridge was arrested by LSU Police on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at about 3 a.m. on a charge of misdemeanor simple battery in connection with a fight earlier that morning near the West Campus Apartments, according to LSU Police spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde. Holmes, who has not recorded a tackle this season after redshirting in 2012, allegedly pushed two others to the ground, Lalonde said.

LSU coach Les Miles has suspended Holmes indefinitely, according to LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette. Holmes was the No. 36 rated player in the state by out of Breaux Bridge High in 2012 when he signed with LSU. He was a wide receiver and track star in high school.

On Oct. 18, LSU true freshman defensive back/tailback Jeryl Brazil of Loranger was arrested on a misdemeanor simple battery charge after allegedly grabbing a woman by the neck and throwing her to the ground in her home and punching a hole in the wall, according to LSU Police. Miles indefinitelly suspended Brazil, who played in only the Sept. 7 UAB game this season at tailback for two carries. Four days after that game, Brazil and another man got into a fight on campus, according to LSU Police, and Brazil received a misdemeanor summons for disturbing the peace.
