( 4UMF NEWS ) Memphitz Lawsuit Against K. Michelle Dismissed:
On Thursday, Mickey “Memphitz” Wright, Jr., lost his lawsuit filed back in 2012 against his former lover Kimberly Michelle Pate, Viacom (which owns VH1), and the producers of ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta,’ reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
During her appearance on the hit reality series, K. Michelle was often vocal about being physically abused by Memphitz and being ripped off by the former Jive Records executive. Although she never mentioned Memphitz by name, several gossip website made the connection.
In the lawsuit, filed on Sept. 5, 2012, Wright sought to recover $15 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages. However, Memphitz was unable to prove that the R&B star’s allegations were false, that VH1 knew they were lies, and that he was a more of a private figure than a public one, and that his reputation was compromised due to the bogus allegations.
Following due diligence, Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney sided with the defendants. In court depositions, Memphitz affirmed that he became involved with an incident that ended with a physical altercation with K. Michelle while they were in a Memphis hotel. In addition to that admission, he also confessed to using money from Jive’s budget on bling and not to help K.’s career. Also, Memphitz admitted to sending a threatening text message to K. Michelle where he threatened to kill her son.
