( 4UMF NEWS ) Missing Person – Relisha Rudd:
A search is underway for an 8-year-old Maryland girl reported missing from a southeast Washington homeless shelter only hours before police say a body was found connected to her disappearance.
Relisha Tenau Rudd, who’s described as a 4-foot tall black female, is feared to be missing since late February when she was allegedly picked up by someone her family knew but never returned, CBS DC reported.
A Metropolitan police spokeswoman reached by the Daily News declined comment on when the girl was last seen. D.C. Public Schools did not return a similar request for comment.
The hunt for Relisha, now involving the FBI, has since Thursday morning only intensified when the body of an adult woman was found in an Oxon Hill, Md. motel, according to Prince George’s County Police Department.
The unidentified homicide victim, found at a Red Roof Inn, was reportedly found after one of two vehicles initially sought in connection to Relisha was seen parked outside, CBS reported.
Authorities have not said what relation the victim has to the missing child, but do say it is not her mother.
They have identified a white 1976 GMC truck with a Maryland tag of 305015 as a possible vehicle she could be traveling in.
Police have also released a name of a person they believe Relisha may be traveling with: Kahlil Malik Tatum.
