( 4UMF NEWS ) Morgan Freeman's Step Daughter Stabbed In New York:

E'Deena Hines, Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter, was stabbed to death early Sunday morning in New York.

According to People, Hines was found lying in the street near her home on W. 162nd near St. Nicholas Ave in Washington Heights. Police took a man into custody, suspected to be her boyfriend after he was seen kneeling over her whispering religious scriptures. A knife was also found on the scene. Hines was taken to Harlem Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Freeman released a statement on Hines, calling her a "star." She was the granddaughter of his first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.

"The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer," he said. "Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace."

Hines was a theater actress and previously taught "under-exposed youth" in Memphis, Tennessee. She was 33-years-old.

The 30-year-old suspect hasn't been charged with any crime. Authorities told reporters he was under psychiatric evaluation at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
