Naturi Naughton’s ‘Power’ Scripts Stolen By Hacker
( 4UMF NEWS ) Naturi Naughton's 'Power' Scripts Stolen By Hacker:
A Bahamas man who was busted for allegedly trying to sell scripts and sexually explicit photos of celebrities and sports figures hacked into the email account of “Power” star Naturi Naughton, sources told the Daily News on Wednesday.
Alonzo Knowles, 23, was busted by the feds in Manhattan on Monday for trying to sell confidential information and incriminating photos he'd downloaded from unnamed celebrities' computers.
Entertainment industry sources said one of the victims was the 31-year-old Naughton, who stars in the hit Starz show. The thievery is laid out in the criminal complaint against Knowles.
It says the scammer emailed "a popular radio host" earlier this month to say he had "full scripts of episodes 1-6" of an upcoming season of a "popular drama", and was "trying to make a few dollars of these stuff that I got," according to court papers.
The unidentified host told an executive producer of the show, who notified the network.
The network reached out to the feds, and they worked together to smoke the thief out.
The radio host put Knowles in touch with an undercover agent who the host said was interested in buying the scripts.
In a Facetime chat with Knowles, the alleged hacker showed the undercover the scripts of the TV show, which had an actress's name watermarked on them, court papers say.
The sources said that actress was Naughton, and the scripts were episodes for the upcoming season of "Power."
The complaint says "Victim 1's" phone account information was compromised in September, and she told investigators she "did not provide any" of her scripts to anyone else.
A rep for Naughton did not respond to a request for comment.
Knowles also had contact information for another actress on the show, the complaint says.
A spokesperson for Starz said the cable company couldn't comment on any ongoing legal investigation, but added, “We believe that every entertainment company should vigorously protect its intellectual property from theft and blackmail through every legal avenue at its disposal."
Knowles was also peddling movie scripts, including one from an unnamed "upcoming hip-hop artist biopic movie," the complaint said. CBS News reported the movie is "All Eyez on Me," a Tupac Shakur biopic that started shooting in Atlanta last week.
