( 4UMF NEWS ) Ray McDonald Arrested Again:
Ray McDonald can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
Monday, the 300-pound defensive lineman was released by the Bears hours after he was arrested by Santa Clara (Calif.) authorities on misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment charges. Wednesday, Santa Clara police arrested McDonald again, this time for violating a restraining order.
“On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at about 2:52 PM., Santa Clara Detectives learned Ray McDonald violated a restraining order for being at a residence in Santa Clara,” reads the latest Santa Clara police press release. “Detectives later located Ray McDonald at a nearby Togo’s Sandwiches in Santa Clara. Ray McDonald was arrested without incident and transported to Santa Clara Police Department for processing. He will be booked at Santa Clara County Jail. The restraining order Ray McDonald violated was issued as a result of his earlier domestic violence and child endangerment arrest which occurred in Santa Clara on May 25, 2015.”
The police stated that the current investigation into domestic violence and child endangerment charges is ongoing. Although the Santa Clara police press release issued Monday did not name the woman involved in the alleged incident, several reports indicated it is McDonald’s ex-fiancee.
The Bears released the 30-year-old McDonald on Memorial Day, less than 75 days after he signed a one-year deal. In December, while he was still a 49er, McDonald was accused of sexual assault by a different woman. The 49ers cut him after an investigation into that alleged assault was launched by Santa Clara authorities. That investigation is ongoing as well, although the Santa Clara district attorney’s office has not announced whether or not they will prosecute McDonald.
McDonald was arrested last August on felony domestic violence charges in Santa Clara, but he was never prosecuted in that case.
