( 4UMF NEWS ) Teen Discovers He Is A Missing Person While Applying For College:
Julian Hernandez discovered he was listed as a missing person for thirteen years while filling out college applications in Ohio. The 18-year-old learned that his social security number didn’t match his name, and it was his guidance counselor who discovered that Julian was listed in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database.
The teen’s father, Bobby, was subsequently arrested for falsifying records and he’s also facing charges of interference of custody in Alabama, where Julian’s mother reported him missing. The father’s facing 10 years in prison on the felony charge and he’s currently being held on $250,000 bond in Cuyahoga County.
The mother released a statement after learning that her son was alive and well in Ohio, “Our family was overjoyed this week to locate Julian and learn that he is safe. We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support during Julian’s disappearance. Although we appreciate the interest our story has generated, we will have to decline any requests for interviews or additional information at this time. We ask that the media respect our privacy as we focus on Julian’s well-being during this difficult time in his life.”
