Former wrestling champion Joanie Laurer, known better in the ring as Chyna, died Wednesday afternoon at the age of 45.

Laurer was found “peacefully” in her Redonado Beach, Calif. home, her agent Antony Anzaldo said. Her cause of death was unknown.

TMZ reported police were at the home early Thursday morning investigating the death as a possible overdose.

On her social media pages, Laurer's management wrote "She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

Known also as the “ninth wonder of the world,” the muscular Laurer, who fought both men and women, was a trailblazer for women in the wrestling field.

She was the first woman to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Her groundbreaking career with WWE also included becoming the first female competitor for the King of the Ring tournament and she was a founding member of the wrestling group D-Generation X.

After her famed wrestling career, she turned to modeling, reality television and adult films. She continued to break records, becoming the first wrestler to pose for the cover of Playboy magazine in 2000.

The WWE legend appeared on "Fear Factor," "The Surreal Life" and had a stint on "3rd Rock from the Sun." On "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," she opened up about her substance abuse problems. Starting in 2004, the Rochester native released six adult films.

Her death comes less than two weeks after the death of ECW wrestler Balls Mahoney.
